The Wyoming Virtual Academy (WYVA) offers a full catalog of kindergarten through high school courses. The program is available to home-based full-time K-12 students and part-time secondary students. Wyoming certified, highly qualified teachers provide instruction directly to the student and through responsible adults (typically parents) working as learning coaches with the student. Computer and printer is provided plus a stipend for internet connectivity. All instructional materials are sent to students. Student work is submitted to the teacher(s) for evaluation and feedback. The k-8 program is a mastery-based program requiring students to demonstrate proficiency as they progress through courses. The 9-12 program follows a traditional school calendar with semester-length courses and daily progress expectations. The curriculum is provided by K12 Inc. It is designed to be delivered in a virtual environment utilizing the best traditional methodologies and the applications of new technology capabilities.

WYVA also makes individual courses available to students enrolled in Wyoming schools and working in classrooms. A learning coach needs to be assigned by the local school to work with the student as the parent/guardian would with a home-based student. No technology will be provided however all other instructional materials will be provided to the student.
