Wyoming "e" Academy of Virtual Education
A distance education program offered by Fremont County School District #21, Fort Washakie High School
Resident district expectations
The Resident District will appoint a mentor to the student. This mentor will work directly with the student to ensure that the students is progressing through the course in a timely manner, to ensure that the student is properly pacing him/herself, and to provide any additional support that the student may need. The Resident District will develop a Distance Learning Plan (DLP) to assure that the student is moving towards graduation and Hathaway Scholarship eligibility. This DLP will be kept on file at both the Resident District and WeAVE offices. The Resident District is responsible for all assessments that are required by the Wyoming Department of Education. WeAVE will ensure that all course completion documentation is sent in a timely manner to the Resident District's student record office.
Training
WeAVE will provide all necessary training to certified teachers, counselors, and mentors. Travel to our campus for the training will be at the expense of the Resident District. When feasible, professional development will be delivered in an online format.
Conflict resolution
Conflicts that can not be worked out with the WeAVE course instructor should be reported to the FWCHS Principal. The FWCHS Superintendent will facilitate resolution of any further conflicts. Complaints or conflicts that haven’t been adequately addressed can be heard and/or resolved by the FWCHS school board.
