Jackson Hole Connections Academy

Teton County School District #1 discontinued offering their distance education program after the 2010-2011 school year. The Wyoming Connections Academy program is now offered by offered by Big Horn County School District #1.


Jackson Hole Connections Academy is a pioneering public distance education program whose mission is to maximize academic achievement for students in grades K-12 throughout the state of Wyoming who need a full-time alternative to the traditional classroom. A program of Teton County School District #1, Jackson Hole Connections Academy is designed to work through the Wyoming Switchboard Network in partnership with school districts, parents and families. Jackson Hole Connections Academy will engage students for whom this innovative distance education approach provides the best pathway to school success. The program's belief is that all students can thrive through a standards-aligned, individualized learning program that combines the best in distance education with unique technology-based teacher productivity tools and very real connections among students, family, teachers, and the community. Students enrolling full-time in Jackson Hole Connections Academy will receive a loaned computer and Internet subsidy; all online curriculum and instructional materials, including streaming video, synchronous web conferencing, and animations; extensive offline curriculum materials such as textbooks, novels, science and art supplies, and math maniupulatives; Wyoming-certified, highly qualified teachers; and access to extensive school activities such as online clubs and in-person field trips.
