Evanston Virtual High School

Uinta County School District #1 sponsors the Evanston Virtual High School (EVHS). EVHS offers high school curriculum and services developed for 9th through 12th grade students. EVHS offers courses in Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and PE. This is a mastery-based program which requries students to demonstrate proficiency as they progress through courses. EVHS curriculum is designed to be delivered in a virtual environment utilizing the best teaching/learning methodologies and the appropriate applications of new technology capabilities. Learning can happen at home, on the road, or wherever an Internet connection can be found. Students receive instruction through a cooperative effort between a designated adult (often the parent/guardian) and a highly qualified, Wyoming certified teacher. While attendance, teacher interaction, and daily lessons are conducted online, our lessons also use physical materials and offline tools. Instruction is delivered via the computer, textbooks, workbooks, hands-on materials and face-to-face instruction.
