Resident district expectations

It is the resident district's responsibility to provide a liaison who will work with students to become knowledgeable in the college's admissions and registration policies, academic procedures, academic regulations, and support services that apply to dual enrollment students. Further, the liaison works with NWC personnel with respect to student registrations and participation in courses. In most cases, this liaison is the high school counselor, but the resident district may choose who on their staff will fulfill this function.

The Dean of Extended Campus and Workforce at Northwest College is responsible for the Dual Enrollment program and communicates regularly by email, phone, and personal visits with counselors and principals in the NWC service area high schools. Additionally, the college hosts an annual meeting for high schools in the service area to discuss issues in delivering post-secondary options to high school students.

Conflict resolution

Processes are in place for conflicts between student and instructor. These processes are found the in the student handbook at NWC available on the website. Conflicts with parents are handled by the resident district personnel. If resident district personnel request NWC help with this conflict, the Dean of Extended Campus and Workforce is available. All other conflicts are resolved by the administration of the two schools.
