Chapter 41 Distance Education Rules
The Chapter 41 Distance Education Rules (View) provide a uniform process for all distance education courses offered by Wyoming school districts or from which academic credit will be transferred to or accepted by a Wyoming school district. The provisions of this Chapter shall apply to all distance education courses offered by Wyoming school districts or distance education courses from which academic credit will be transferred to or accepted by a Wyoming school district.
Resident District Handbook
The WSN Resident District Handbook (View) is a guide for K-12 distance education. For each student receiving distance education coursework, the student's resident district is required to complete a Distance Learning Plan to ensure the delivery method is appropriate to the individual student’s learning capabilities, monitor the student’s progress through the DE course(s), facilitate necessary instructional support, and maintain the student's records. The resident district is responsible for verifying the distance education courses are approved by the Wyoming Department of Education and fulfills both state and local district program standards.
Distance Learning Plan (DLP) Templates
Various templates are available for a resident district to create and use student DLPs:
Please refer to the directions, webcast/mp4, or contact either of the distance education consultants for more information on the use of these templates.
Please note: Statewide DE Providers will supply a district a DLP customized to their program.
